I work – I work for a financial institution.
You work – You work overtime almost every day.
He/She /It works- She works as an IT Programmer in a big company.
We work – We work hard to attain our goals.
They work- They work during holidays as well.
Do I work later overnight Mr. Johnson?
Do you work all Satudays?
Does he/she/it works- Does it work well?
Do we work just half day today?
Do they work at night?
I do not work – I do not work when I am sick.
You do not work- You do not work on your birthdays.
He/She/It does not work- It does not work well now.
We do not work- We do not work on Sundays.
They do not work- They do not work on weekends.
Note: Contractions are also used like do not = don’t, does not=doesn’t..etc
|2. The spelling of the third person singular forms are as follows:|
-Most verbs add –s to infinitive like:
Work – works
-Verbs ending in consonant + y: then change y o I and add es:
Copy – copies
-But ( vowel + y ) like….enjoy-enjoys
- Verbs ending in –s,z,ch,sh or x add es to infinitive.
3. Pronunciation of third person singular forms
Usually, the pronunciation of the –es ending words depend on the sound hat comes before it. The rules are just the same as for the plural -es ending words.
